Hello again blog world!
I know I’ve been away for a while, let’s call it a break after my half marathon and not sure what else to write about. Halloween was in there too – anybody dress up as anything fun?
This week, I started a 4 week training plan for a faster 5k. I am running a race called Turkey Tagalog on Thanksgiving Day morning. This is new for me. I’ve never done a race on a holiday before, but I’ve really wanted to give it a try, and this one is close and cheap, so it works out.
The training plan has me running 5 days a week, not really sure I can pull that off without running both days of the weekend (which is what the plan wants). Which wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t pheasant hunting season for Ryan and the dog, and it’s harder to get away when they are out hunting. We’ll see what happens, it’s only one month. I still feel like the race can go pretty well even if I cut it down to 4 days a week. 5 days isn’t so bad unless you realize that 3 or 4 of them are fast pace intervals. It will all work, I’m just trying to make it a fast 5k to finish out the year on a high note.
I would like to run a race in December, but I haven’t found one to fit my schedule yet. I’d even be ok with a virtual race if I could find one. I really just want a cute snowman shirt – I’m kinda silly that way!
I still have some packets of Island Boost to give away. If you’d like to try it, give me a comment and I’ll get some sent to you. No obligation to buy anything, just a great product to try.
Do you know any December races??
